Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information RehabProtocols.com collects when you use the site, how that information is used, and what choices you have. We are committed to being transparent about our data practices.

1. Information We Collect

RehabProtocols.com collects two categories of information:

  • Analytics data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4): When you visit this site, Google Analytics automatically collects certain information about your visit, including your IP address (anonymized by Google), browser type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, time spent on the site, and general geographic region (city/country level). This data is collected by Google on our behalf and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Browser localStorage (client-side only): To power the Favorites and Recently Viewed features, this site stores your saved protocol preferences locally in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device โ€” it is not transmitted to any server, not associated with any account, and not accessible to us.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

RehabProtocols.com does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or any contact information (unless you voluntarily submit a contact form)
  • Patient data of any kind
  • Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Payment or financial information
  • Account credentials (there are no user accounts on this site)

3. How We Use Analytics Data

Analytics data collected via Google Analytics 4 is used solely to understand how visitors use the site โ€” for example, which protocols are most commonly viewed, which search terms are used, and which pages receive the most traffic. This information helps us improve the site's content and features. We do not use this data to identify individual users or for advertising targeting.

4. Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish users and sessions. These are analytics cookies, not advertising or tracking cookies. No other cookies are set by this site. Our localStorage use (Favorites, Recently Viewed) is not a cookie โ€” it is a separate browser storage mechanism that cannot be read by third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (operated by Google LLC). Google may process your analytics data on servers outside your country of residence. For more information about how Google handles data collected through Analytics, see Google's data retention and privacy controls.

All protocol and guideline links on this site point to external third-party sources (academic journals, hospital systems, professional organizations). We have no control over and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.

6. Your Choices and Opt-Out Rights

You have several options to limit data collection:

  • Google Analytics opt-out: You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking analytics cookies will prevent Google Analytics from tracking your visit. See your browser's help documentation for instructions.
  • localStorage: You can clear your browser's localStorage at any time through your browser's developer tools or site settings. This will remove your saved Favorites and Recently Viewed data from your device.

Residents of California (CCPA) and the European Economic Area (GDPR) have additional rights regarding their personal data. To exercise those rights or to request deletion of any data we may hold about you, please contact us using the information in Section 8 below.

7. Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months in accordance with our GA4 configuration. localStorage data (Favorites, Recently Viewed) exists only on your device and persists until you clear it or use a different browser.

8. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise any data rights, please contact us via the Contact page.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
