No passive dorsiflexion wks 8-12 (active DF only); heel lifts in boot wks 6-12 with gradual removal; outpatient PT begins at wk 8
Timeline & Phases
Phase I (0-2 wks): NWB plaster splint, elevation toes above nose 45 min/hr, knee/hip AROM; Phase II (2-8 wks): NWB fiberglass cast wks 2-6, WBAT in boot wk 6, outpatient PT orders given; Phase III (8-12 wks): AROM ankle, isometric PF, stationary bike, 4-way SLR, balance; Phase IV (12-16 wks): transition to shoe FWB, gastroc/soleus stretching, functional activities; Phase V (4+ mo): return to high-level activity per surgeon
