Brace if ordered — HOB <30 deg until brace received; log roll for transfers; drain monitoring (Jackson Pratt, hemovac, intrathecal lumbar drains); red flags: new UMN dysfunction (positive Babinski, new clonus, spasticity), fever >101.5, worsening pain; no weight bearing restrictions unless specifically ordered; consult OT for ADL impairments
