- WBAT with crutches; wean crutches once ambulating without a limp (goal by week 2)
- Key Restrictions
- Squats limited to 90° in Phase 2; no jogging until 2-3 months; crutches weeks 0-2 minimum, wean when gait normalized
- Timeline & Phases
- Phase 1 (0-4 wks): WBAT with crutches, wean by wk 2 if no limp, quad sets, SLR 4-way, heel slides, glute squeezes, patella mobilizations, gentle HS stretch; Phase 2 (4-8 wks): FWB, full ROM, biking, elliptical (wk 6), leg press, CKC TKE, squats to 90° only, step-ups/downs, balance; Phase 3 (8-12 wks): low-impact plyometrics (monitor for reactive edema), kneeling on foam pad, swimming; Phase 4 (12+ wks): return to pre-op activity, running progression; Return to sport: swimming/cycling/golf 4-6 wks, jogging 2-3 months, racquet sports 3-6 months, skiing 6+ months; high impact per MD
