- Varies by body part: upper extremity sling 0-10 days; lower extremity PWB with crutches ± boot 0-10 days; wean to full WB Phase II
- Key Restrictions
- Phase I (0-3 days): immobilization — sling for RC/biceps, wrist splint for elbow epicondyles, PWB + crutches for patellar/quad tendons, PWB + crutches + boot for Achilles/ankle/plantar fascia; no overstressing tendon through exercise/lifting/impact until Phase III; avoid high velocity/plyometrics/running/jumping/heavy lifting until Phase IV
- Timeline & Phases
- Phase I (0-3 days): immobilization per body part, gentle AROM; Phase II (3-10-14 days): wean from device, AROM 3x daily, cross-training opposite extremity; Phase III (14 days to 6-8 wks): full ROM, isometric → concentric → eccentric strengthening, proprioception, non-impact cardio; Phase IV (6-8+ wks): eccentric multi-plane strength, impact control, sport-specific progressions, RTS with physician/PT clearance
- Notes
- Non-surgical PRP injection for tendinopathy across multiple body regions: rotator cuff, biceps, medial/lateral epicondyle, patellar tendon, quad tendon, Achilles, ankle tendons, plantar fascia.
