- Sling x 4-6 wks; PROM only x 4 wks; AAROM at 4 wks; AROM at 6 wks; no strengthening x 10 wks; avoid ER beyond 30° x 4 wks; avoid excessive extension beyond 0° and end-range adduction/IR x 4 wks; no supporting body weight with involved hand; LIFETIME: no lifting >20 lbs out from body or overhead; no overhead throwing
- Timeline & Phases
- 7 phases: Acute Care (day 1, hospital), Maximum Protection (0-2 wks, PROM flexion/scaption to 90°, ER to 30°), Protected Passive Motion (2-4 wks), Active Assisted Motion (4-6 wks, AAROM, wean sling, submaximal isometrics), Active Motion (6-10 wks, AROM), Strengthening and Advanced Movement (10-24 wks, light resistance at 10 wks). Moderate function at 3 months; golf/racquet sports 4-6 months; lifetime lifting restrictions
