Sling until physician discharge; AAROM/isometrics at 7-10 days; AROM at 1-2 wks; strengthening at 2-3 wks; much faster progression than labral repair (debridement only); no carrying or lifting heavy objects in motion and muscle activation phase
Timeline & Phases
5 phases: Protected Motion (0-2 wks, sling, PROM/AAROM all planes), Motion and Muscle Activation (2-4 wks, progress to full AROM, RC and scapular strengthening), Advanced Strengthening (5-7 wks, 90/90 IR/ER, plyometrics, PNF), Return to Activity (8-12 wks, interval throwing, sport-specific). Expected D/C 10-12 wks
