Hip Arthroscopy

50% PWB with crutches for 2 weeks, then wean crutches
Key Restrictions
No ER >neutral; no hip flexion >90 degrees; no early active hip flexion (hip flexor tendonitis risk); no driving until ~4 weeks post-op; naproxen for heterotopic ossification prophylaxis; aspirin for DVT prophylaxis
Timeline & Phases
Phase I (0-6 wks): 50% PWB, passive ROM, isometrics, stationary bike (high seat); Phase II (6-12 wks): normalize ROM/strength/gait, progressive strengthening/neuromuscular training, elliptical/treadmill; Phase III (3-5 months): running progression, sport-specific drills, plyometrics; Return to sport 5-6 months
Notes
PT starts 2-3 days post-op, 1-2x/week for 12+ weeks; sutures out 10-14 days; 2025
