Dr. Michael C. Fu MD (Hospital for Special Surgery) · Michael C. Fu, MD, MHS
- Weight-Bearing
- NWB (arm) initially; progressive loading after radiographic healing confirmed
- Key Restrictions
- Sling with abduction pillow; safe zone: max 130 FF, max 30 ER for 6 wks; if concomitant biceps tenodesis: no elbow flexion resistance for 6 wks; no forced IR until Phase III (10+ wks)
- Timeline & Phases
- Phase I (0-6 wks, PROM): sling + PROM within safe zone -> Phase II (6-10 wks, AROM): full ROM, AAROM/AROM with good mechanics -> Phase III (10+ wks, strengthening): maximize strength + return to work/sport
- Notes
