- No lifting/pushing/pulling >5 lbs involved UE; no WB involved UE; orthosis full time except bathing/exercises
- Timeline & Phases
- Phase I (3–5 days): remove post-op dressings; fabricate RME orthosis (MCP 10–20° hyperext); AROM in orthosis; wrist AROM prn; wound/scar management | Phase II (4 wks): unresisted AROM 5x/day out of orthosis; scar management; monitor for extensor lag | Phase III (6 wks): ADLs without orthosis; PROM if needed; orthosis night and heavy/leisure/unsafe activities | Phase IV (8 wks): initiate strengthening; D/C orthosis (may wear for heavy/leisure/unsafe) | Phase V (10 wks): no restrictions; D/C orthosis
