- Abduction + ER shoulder immobilizer at all times until 6 wks; no passive IR/adduction/extension; no over-door pulleys; no lifting with operative extremity; no heavy weights permanently
- Timeline & Phases
- Phase I 0-6 wks (protective/immobilizer); Phase II 6-12 wks (AROM/lat dorsi re-education); Phase III 12-24 wks (strengthening/proprioception); Phase IV 24+ wks (advanced strengthening/return to activity)
- Notes
- Indicated for irreparable posterior-superior RCT without GH arthritis; expected strength 75-80% of uninvolved side; biofeedback/NMES recommended for lat dorsi muscle re-education as external rotator
