- NWB in post-op splint x 2 wks; boot with WB per physician wks 2-6; wean from boot to shoe at ~6 wks (when wound fully healed)
- Key Restrictions
- AROM/PROM begin at wk 2; closed chain ankle ROM at 6-10 wks; pain and swelling can persist due to procedure complexity; return to golf/tennis/pickleball/limited impact not until 4+ months post-op
- Timeline & Phases
- 5 phases: Maximum Protection (0-2 wks, NWB splint), Protected Motion (2-6 wks, boot, begin AROM), Motion and Muscle Activation (6-10 wks, wean boot to shoe), Advanced Strengthening (10-16 wks), Advanced Movement and Impact (4+ months). Total 4+ months
