- Generally WBAT with walker x 3-6 wks then cane x 3-6 months; non-cemented hips: protected WB with walker 3-6 wks then cane 3-6 months; exception for intra-op fracture or severe osteoporosis
- Key Restrictions
- No hip ABD past neutral; no hip IR past neutral; no hip flex >90 deg (flex may increase >90 at 6 wks); adhere to precautions min 8 wks; abduction pillow x 4 wks; elevated toilet seat x 3 months; protect from hip abduction x 6 wks (anterolateral approach)

- Preop phase + postop sub-phases: Day 1-2 (inpatient), Day 3-45, 6 wks+; long-term goals at Wk 6 (cemented) or Wk 12 (non-cemented); 10-20 visits expected
