Lateral Ankle Ligament Repair — Lateral Ankle Reconstruction (Brostrom)

Weight-Bearing
NWB until post-op surgeon visit; then TDWB in boot or cast
Key Restrictions
No inversion/eversion ROM for 6 weeks; no jumping/hopping until Phase IV (~14 weeks); wean to ankle stabilizing orthosis (ASO)
Timeline & Phases
Phase I (0-6 wks): NWB/TDWB, no ROM; Phase II (6-10 wks): progressive WB, DF/PF ROM, no inversion/eversion; Phase III (10-14 wks): full ROM, full peroneal strength, normal gait; Phase IV (14-16+ wks): sport-specific prep, clearance from surgeon and PT/ATC
