- Sling x 2 weeks; no resisted elbow flexion or supination until week 12; ER limited to 30 degrees x 4 weeks
- Timeline & Phases
- Phase I (0-6 wks): sling x 2 wks, shoulder/elbow/hand ROM, active elbow flexion against gravity only (no resistance), Codmans, flexion/scaption to 90 deg, ER to 30 deg, sub-max shoulder isometrics; wk 6: begin AROM supination (no resistance); Phase II (7-12 wks): isotonic RC strengthening with bands/weights, no biceps loading until week 12; Phase III (12+ wks): resisted elbow flexion OK, full strengthening at therapist discretion; full return to strength/function 4-6 months
